How can someone believe in ultra-high end racks, still points, cable risers, shakti stone style room treatments, etc. all making an audible difference and at the same time have all manner of junk sitting on top of source components, amps, pre-amps etc. and not believe that is making a difference. Unless you're telling me Fremer has specifically placed that garbage on his equipment in order to further tune the room. There is JUNK everywhere. CD and product cases on every rack, touching all of the equipment. Cables coiled up and laying on top of gear. He's got random non-audiophile stuff plugged in everywhere. I just can't reconcile the "everything makes a difference" attitude (and he literally says that phrase) with the condition of his room.

Its not JUST that its messy. Its the idea that cable lifters make a huge difference but the stack of CD cases and leftover product packaging laying on your amps are just fine.

If they're not blocking the heat from escaping they probably are.

Cable risers and shakti stones, give me a break.
What if you live in a high-rise, is it the distance from the ground, or from the floor? If your floor is 100 ft up, what's the difference?
I really wish I had 'invented' shakti stones, it's like snake oil, but even cheaper.
I won't even watch the viedeo.

He doesn't actually have Shakti stones but he does have some of those small "room tuning" devices that have no acoustic properties to them and are way to small to be making any scientific acoustic changes. I don't know what they're called.

I don't believe in those "voodoo tweaks" either. Me thinks he just wants to be seen using the products his advertisers pay him big bucks to take out full page ads on.

At times our "hobby" has cult like attributes. You are looking for it to make sense. Unless you are drinking the koolaid it will never make sense. We all get to decide what stop we choose to jump off the crazy train. :)

Had to step away and was thinking our wives and friends that are not interested in the "hobby" likely think we have stayed on the crazy train far too long

Yeah, I use vacuum tubes. How crazy is that?

Stereomour uses 80 watts to output half a watt.

He seams like a nut like the rest of us. He has a dream job , makes good money and has a hell of a time doing it. Who cares if he is sloppy or not. Some of my best 2 channel rooms have been over crowded and messy and those where some of my best memories with music
