Like these? Is that a Peerless tweeter?
A lot like those, although that's not a Speakerlab woofer, or at least not an original from the early 70's. They also originally used 3" or 4" hybrid dome-cone tweeters in the 1 and 3 made by Atlas. By the late 70's I think they were offering domes, probably Peerless but also could be from Dynaco or Pioneer in Taiwan.
The design was inspired by BIC, Sterling and Harbeth for that neutral "BBC" sound.
The main designer was Dave Grabner (or something like that.) He specified the driver parameters and they got made by the lowest bidder. Most of the woofers were from Eminence, Electrovoice or Atlas.
Dave Graebener. Here's a little story about some things he's a little more famous for: Home Theater & Sound Equipment Review -- Bohlender Graebner Radia X-Series Home-Theater Speaker System (2/2002)
"Dave's not here..."
I do recognize the name.
I have a ton of experience with DIY. I never have help taking new speakers out of the box.
