Same here. I missed it in theaters which is unfortunate, but that's why we have home theaters so I'll just buy it.

It would be a treat to see this in someone's home setup that had really stout LFE.

The local Warren Theaters (now Regal) do a pretty good job, but not great.

Interesting. I'll see how my two "12 inch equivalent" and single 15" handle the LFE.

    True that CJ.

I do have a 16" Tempest ported to 17Hz. It should do just fine with the LFE. I've got it on pre-order and cannot wait to see it.

Just finished watching this. Fantastic movie. In my opinion it adds to and expands on the ideas explored in the first film in a way that makes it feel not like a typical sequel.

Received my 4K copy yesterday. My friend is imploring me to not watch it until he can be here. There's a better than good chance that I'll ignore his request.

We finally watched this on BR last night. A fantastic next chapter to the story. I loved it (and I think it's the best performance I've ever seen from Ryan Gosling.)

I watched original Final Cut Blu Ray yesterday, then tried to watch my new 4K version of the 2049, but all it would do was continuously load in my Oppo 203. Thank god I bought the version that has a Blu Ray too. First 4K that would not play. Checked firmware, but it was up to date.

Watched this last night via Vudu and I enjoyed it. I will be purchasing the Uhd soon. I was never a fan of the original, but this sequel kept my interest. The cinematography was refreshing and could only imagine an Alien film in current times with this same approach.

@claud, there is a beta firmware for the Oppo 203 that addresses issues with the Bladerunner UHD. Not sure if you use beta firmwares or not but Oppo is aware.

Late again to the party but I watched this Friday and was floored. Sooo good, interesting and flowing. I may have enjoyed this better than the original in its scope and explorations outside downtown.

I had to load the "public beta" firmware on my UDP-205 before the UHD disk would even load. I find it interesting that the beta firmware specifically mentioned Blade Runner 2049.

As a general rule I am not a fan of any firmware labeled "beta". I've bricked more than one device with beta firmware. Looks like this one went OK. I think I'l wait until the final version is out before I update the UDP-203 in the bedroom just in case there are any bug-a-boos in the beta.

FWIW, I've never had an issue with beta firmware from Oppo, I was a beta tester for the BDP-83, and never noticed any problems over the years.

I think this film is one of those movies in which I obsess over for weeks. Alien, Inception, No County for Old Men, and now Blade Runner 2049. I've read the novels for Alien, and No Country for Old men (actually watched No County.....last night), and I promised to read a couple of Phillip K. Dick shortstories, but now that just might happen. I did purshase Blade Runner (The Final Cut) and watched a bunch of Synopses for both films on Youtube. It may be that I simply did not watch this version in which the Harrison Ford narration is not available, and thus being spoon fed some of the exposition of the film led me into a state of boredom.

I generally don't re-watch many films soon after their theatrically release.
After I have seen them or seen them later at home.. Just not much into
re-watching, unlike some of my friends who see films 3-7 times.
But an ice storm & some friends came over with Blue Rays. & libations.
    I don't have 4k capable gear.
    So, it's all Blue Ray.
we watched the original Blade Runner
    ...ate and drank, chit chatted...
    solved 1/2 the worlds polemics...You're e welcome.

    Then watched the sequel...2049.

Whoa, this looked and sounded great...I am still not a fan of the
    Music/soundtrack but that's just me.

    The LFE is jaw dropping.
    Room is 13x21x8
Three sealed tumults. Full range speakers.
the very first scene before credits, sounded
like a cement truck crashed into the house.
    EVERYBODY jumped...dogs too. There have
been other LFE that raised an eyebrow, you know the list.

Toggling between 2.1 and all variations was amazing.

There have been other block Block busters of similar,
but this being the most recent caught my attention.

We watched it again with guests over a couple nights ago. With the big IB turned on, the same point as described above, a drink got spilled... a terrible waste of 14y Oban. :)
